ABOUT ME
He estado enseñando educación física desde 2016. Sin embargo, sigue siendo un fan de los Rams!
Mi filosofía
I have been teaching since 2010. I continually look to learn, improve my teaching, and grow as an educator and as a person. While I believe my pedagogy has shifted, my philosophy on physical education and education as a whole has not changed.
In 2016, I transitioned from the general education classroom to physical education. This shift came from a passion for the outdoors and movement, along with a push from some special people in my life. I have been active all my life and I strive to pass my passion for movement and an active lifestyle to my students as well as the people around me. Even before I began teaching physical education, I had worked to get students active through movement breaks in the classroom, after school groups, and more.
After all these years, my philosophy hasn't changed. I continue to work on improving students' health by focusing on the whole child. At Irish Elementary Escuela Bilingüe, we focus on the whole child by integrating social emotional learning, physical health, mental health, and more - all through a dual language lens.

MAX YOUR DAYS!
#MAX
YOUR
DAYS!
#MaxYourDays - This is physical literacy at work! Physical literacy is the ability to move with competence and confidence in a wide variety of physical activities in multiple environments that benefit the healthy development of the whole person. This was an initiative we started at Irish during Fall 2019 semester. We began with teachers submitting photos of themselves getting active. Now, it's your turn! Post photos on the Irish PE Health & Wellness page or email photos to your child's teacher or to me. mbartlet@psdschools.org
