Physical Activity

Physical activity is any bodily movement that

results in energy expenditure. It's your body's ability to work.

Fitness/Intensity is the driving force behind physical literacy, the bridge connecting physical education to physical literacy. Your competence and confidence grows as you apply the learning concepts from PE to your physical activity.

You want to push for 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity every day!

Moderate physical activity is when you feel like you can exercise for hours, breathing heavily, but you can hold a short conversation with someone.

Vigorous physical activity is when you are on the verge of becoming uncomfortable, short of breath, but you can speak a sentence.

Physical Literacy

Physical literacy is the ability to move with competence and confidence in a wide variety of physical activities in multiple environments that benefit the healthy development of the whole person. A physically literate individual values physical activity and is eager to enjoy a lifetime of healthful physical activity,
